When it comes to wedding DJ price, you will find the cost varies widely depending on your geographic location, the services offered by the DJ, how long you will use their services, how much demand there is for their services and various other factors. You can expect the price for a wedding disc jockey to range anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. With such a wide variation in price your best bet is to do your research and comparison shop far in advance.


The first step is to make a list of prospective DJs. You can do this by looking in your local Yellow Pages or searching online. The Internet is a great way to research disc jockeys for weddings and other events because many DJs have websites where you can learn more about them. On their website you may find out about their hourly rate (although some may charge a flat fee) and the kind of music they offer. Most DJs can play most anything you want although some specialize in a certain genre of music. You might also be able to read some testimonials or even watch video clips of the DJ in action.

Once you've narrowed down your list you will want to visit with each DJ in person. You want to choose someone who makes you feel at ease and who presents the professional appearance and demeanor you want for your wedding. During your consultation you can explain what you want and the DJ can explain what they do and whether or not they can meet your specific needs. It might be a good idea to consult with at least three DJs so you're sure to make the best possible choice for your wedding and reception.

Entertainment is a big part of your reception and you definitely want the best disc jockey you can afford. You and your guests will have a great time with a DJ who keeps the party going with a good mix of different music choices. You should also ask if the DJ provides emcee services in addition to providing the music. Once you've chosen your DJ you will need to sign a contract that stipulates all details and you may be required to put down a deposit to reserve the DJ for your wedding. It's also a good idea to call and confirm everything a week or so before your big day.
